Førjulsgleder – DIY
16 desember
Å lage islykter en en enkel og morsom aktivitet for både små og store, – og ikke minst en hyggelig måte å ønske gjestene velkommen på. Fremgangsmåten finner du under bildet.
Ice lantern
Do this on a cold day, or you will need lots of free space in your freezer. Fill a bowl almost to the top with water. Then take a smaller bowl, fill it with rocks or something else that’s heavy enough to keep it standing still in the larger bowl of water. Now you grab your decorations, acorns, branches, heather or any other decorations you would like, and push them down into the water between the bowls. You may have to readjust some of the decorations when the water starts to freeze to get everything beneath the surface of the water. Then leave it all outside over night to freeze properly, or use your freezer.
The next day dip the whole outer bowl in hot water to make the ice let go of it. Empty the inner bowl of rocks and fill with hot water so that this comes loose as well. Now set your lantern down into the snow, and wait for dark. Light a small candle in the lantern or wrap it in a coil of Christmas lights to achieve a little bit of Christmas magic.
Frem til julaften skal vi – hver dag – gi deg noen tips som kan glede familie og venner i den kalde og mørke årstiden. Følg med.
